What kind of metal is this?

I use real copper, brass, bronze, annealed steel, sterling silver (92.5% silver) and fine silver (99% silver).  I don't use any alloys that contain nickel.

How long does it take you to weave an item?

It varies from a couple of hours to all day, depending on the complexity, amount of weaving and amount of layering.

How did you learn to do this? 

I am completely self taught from books written by the many masters of wire weaving techniques. I have always been able to draw, so that helps with designing.
